Sky UK has officially announced the launch of Sky Glass Air, a more budget-friendly addition to its streaming TV lineup. Set to be available from June 10, 2025, this new model offers a streamlined design and competitive pricing, aiming to attract a broader audience to Sky's internet-based television services.

Sleek Design Meets Affordability

Sky Glass Air retains the core features of its predecessor, the Sky Glass Gen 2, including a 4K Quantum Dot HDR display. However, it omits the built-in Dolby Atmos soundbar, resulting in a slimmer profile and reduced cost. The TV is equipped with 2.0 stereo speakers supporting Dolby Audio, providing quality sound suitable for everyday viewing.
Available in three sizes43", 55", and 65"—and three colors: Carbon Grey, Cotton White, and Sea Green, Sky Glass Air offers aesthetic versatility to fit various home decors.

Integrated Streaming Experience

Operating on Sky OS, Sky Glass Air provides seamless access to a wide range of content without the need for a satellite dish. Users can stream live TV, on-demand shows, and integrate popular apps like Netflix, BBC iPlayer, and Prime Video directly through the interface. The system also features voice control capabilities, enhancing user convenience.

Pricing and Availability

Sky Glass Air will be available for purchase starting June 10, 2025. Pricing begins at £6 per month when bundled with the Sky Essential TV package, which includes over 100 channels, Netflix, and Discovery+ at no additional cost. For those preferring to buy outright, the starting price is £309.

Strategic Shift Towards Internet-Based TV

The introduction of Sky Glass Air signifies Sky's continued transition from traditional satellite services to internet-based streaming solutions. By offering a more affordable and flexible option, Sky aims to cater to a wider customer base seeking modern, integrated entertainment systems.
