YouTube TV App Disappears from Roku Devices

TN-YouTube TV App Disappears from Roku Devices
In early April 2025, multiple Roku users reported that the YouTube TV app had unexpectedly vanished from their devices. Affected users found the app missing from the home screen and were unable to reinstall it via the Roku Channel Store.
The exact reason behind the app's disappearance remains unknown. Neither Roku nor Google has provided an official explanation. Some users assume that a recent Roku OS update may be responsible, but this has not been confirmed as of now.

Temporary Solutions

Roku & Google acknowledged the issue and suggested a workaround. Users can manually check for system updates by navigating to Settings > System > Software Update > Check Now. If the app remains missing, users can access YouTube TV through the main YouTube app by selecting "Go to YouTube TV" from the sidebar.

Community Feedback

The Roku community has been actively discussing the issue. One user noted, "Same happened to me. I’m able to access YouTube TV by navigating to the YouTube app and clicking on the 'Go to YouTube TV' link on the sidebar."
A Roku community moderator addressed the situation, stating:
"We’re aware of the issue where YouTube TV is missing for some users and are investigating. In the meantime, try the following steps to manually check for updates..."

Conclusion

While the sudden disappearance of the YouTube TV app from Roku devices has caused inconvenience, temporary solutions are available. Users are advised to follow the suggested workarounds and await further updates from Roku and Google.
