Potential Switch 2 Port in Development

Speculation about RDR2's arrival on the Nintendo Switch 2 has intensified following a report by RockstarINTEL, which highlighted that Rockstar Games had previously considered bringing the title to the original Switch in 2019.
The upcoming Switch 2, set for release on June 5, 2025, boasts significantly improved hardware capabilities, including a custom Nvidia Tegra T239 processor and support for 4K resolution when docked, making it a more suitable platform for demanding titles like RDR2.

Uncertainty Surrounding PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

While fans have long anticipated native versions of RDR2 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, recent developments have cast doubt on these prospects. According to a report, plans for the next-gen patch of RDR2 have been halted.
This aligns with earlier reports suggesting that Rockstar is focusing its resources on the development of Grand Theft Auto VI, potentially at the expense of other projects.
Despite this, a leaked trailer surfaced in March 2025, purportedly showcasing a next-gen version of RDR2 with enhanced graphics and performance, including 60 frames per second gameplay.
