Hackers Breach Polish Space Agency: Critical Data Under Threat!

Polsa-Space-Station
The Polish Space Agency (POLSA) experienced a cyberattack on March 2, 2025. To prevent further damage, the agency disconnected its systems from the internet. The Polish Space Agency (POLSA) was established in 2014 to support the development of Poland's space sector and enhance national security through satellite technology. The organization actively collaborates with international space organizations like ESA(European Space Agency) to enhance scientific research and innovation.

What Happened?Cyberattack

Poland's Digitalization Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski confirmed the attack, stating that unauthorized access was detected in POLSA's IT network.

The agency's cybersecurity teams swiftly secured the affected systems. Authorities assured that critical space missions and operations remain unaffected. The attack primarily targeted internal administrative systems, and no classified data breaches have been reported so far. However, the extent of the data breach is still under assessment.

Suspected Intruders & Ongoing Investigation

Though the attackers have not been officially identified, initial speculations point to Russian-linked cyber groups due to Poland's active support for Ukraine in the ongoing geopolitical conflict. However, no official confirmation has been made, and Russia has denied involvement.Russia-Ukraine War: Cyberattack
Polish cybersecurity agencies are working alongside international partners to trace the source of the attack. The government has promised to disclose further details once the investigation concludes.
