In a groundbreaking move, Forza Horizon 5 was officially launched on PlayStation 5. This marks the first time a mainline Forza game is available on a Sony console, signaling a significant shift in gaming industry dynamics.
The PS5 version features stunning visuals with both performance and quality modes, offering higher fidelity and ray-traced reflections. It also takes full advantage of the DualSense controller, providing immersive haptic feedback.
The new update features the Horizon Realms mode, which allows players to explore worlds created by the community. Additionally, the game introduces 17 new achievements on Xbox, Windows PC, and Steam, along with 165 trophies on PlayStation 5.

Cross-Platform Play and Account Integration

Forza Horizon 5 supports cross-platform play, enabling PS5 players to race alongside friends on Xbox and PC. A Microsoft account is needed to play on PS5, but progress won't transfer to other platforms, even with the same account.

A Strategic Shift in Gaming

This release is part of Microsoft's broader strategy to make its titles accessible across multiple platforms, including Steam, Battle.net, cloud services, and now PlayStation and Nintendo.
The success of Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 indicates the efficacy of this approach, with the game topping preorder charts on the PlayStation Store in multiple regions.

Pricing & Availbility

The Premium Edition, priced at $99.99, offers early access starting April 25, while the Standard and Deluxe Editions will be available from April 29. PS5 players can now experience the vibrant open-world racing set in a stylized version of Mexico, complete with nearly 900 cars and over 40 thematic game updates.
