Death Stranding 2: On the Beach – Everything You Need to Know

The highly anticipated sequel to Hideo Kojima’s genre-defying masterpiece, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, is set to launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 on June 26, 2025.

The big reveal took place during the SXSW 2025 Special Panel. Moreover, Kojima Productions revealed a 10-minute cinematic trailer filled with new gameplay, characters, and mysterious Metal Gear-inspired vibes.

New Trailer Unveiled – A Deeper Look Into the Sequel

Hideo Kojima took the stage at SXSW 2025 in Austin, Texas, to introduce the new Death Stranding 2: On the Beach trailer. The event showcases a mix of dramatic cut scenes, intense gameplay sequences, and new characters.

Among them is Neil, played by Luca Marinelli, who dons a bandanna in a way reminiscent of Metal Gear’s Solid Snake. The trailer also highlights the Magellan Man, a massive tar-like creature fused with DHV Magellan, reminiscent of Metal Gear Rex. This enemy, controlled in a Pacific Rim-style mech battle, sets the stage for one of the game’s most intense confrontations.

Kojima Productions also announced The Strands of Harmony World Tour, a global concert series featuring an orchestra performing music from the Death Stranding franchise. The tour starts on November 8, 2025, at the Sydney Opera House, celebrating the sixth anniversary of Death Stranding’s original release.
